From the very beginning of the Green Designers company's existence, we try to take care of the environment. Every day we develop new ideas and ways to neutralize our impact on Earth. We focus our activities on two basic areas:
- minimization of waste generation and segregation,
- increasing the use of recycled materials.
The first activity takes place at the very beginning of the process. It is at our company - in our studio, where green compositions are created. First of all, we select materials in the way that as many of them as possible can be recycled. In addition, we minimize the amount of waste generated. We do that by efficient usage of materials and products necessary to create vertical gardens and other decorations made from artificial plants. As a result, the amount of generated waste is much smaller and the one that appear is carefully segregated and sent to recycling companies. Most of the materials that our products are made from can be recycled and reused.
In practice, most of the plastics and metals are recovered and the cleaned waste paper is sent to the paper mills. There, after defibration, it is turned into printing or writing paper, newsprint, blotting paper and coated cardboard.
The second place of action is where our greenery was introduced. We are not indifferent to the fate of our products. Thus, we have started a program which main assumption is the recovery of materials from the arrangements we have created. For this reason, each of our client, if decides to change the interior, can send the products purchased from us back to our headquarters. We will assess the condition of the greenery on site and recycle it. A person who will benefit from the program and chooses to recycle the materials instead of discarding the products will receive an individually calculated discount for a new composition.
In addition to reducing the waste, it is important for us that an increasing amount of our products are made of recycled materials. Therefore, we are very pleased to announce that from now on Green Designers panels will consist of 40% of recycled materials. It happened thanks to the introduction of post-consumer recycled resin to the production of our vertical gardens. It is a material made of recycled plastic, such as water and beverage bottles, other packaging and plastic products. It is a more sustainable source of products that would otherwise be developed using virgin resin. This means that Green Designers vertical gardens are partly made of waste, which therefore does not pollute the environment, and in return it gains a second life.
This success inspires us to continue the research and development. We will further work and constantly strive to increase the use of recycled materials in our products. We will keep you updated on the effects.
